Ms. Assel Zhumagali Taher is a Marketing Associate at the International Markets Department at Bank of Singapore. Previously she served as a Senior Manager at the at Treasury Department of the “Samruk-Kazyna” Sovereign Wealth Fund in Astana, which represents nearly 600 fully or partially state-owned enterprises that operate in different sectors of Kazakhstan’s economy such as in finance, oil and gas, transportation, telecommunications, metallurgy, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals and others. Ms. Taher’s prior professional experience includes positions at Astana-Finance JSC, the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, and at the National Center for State Educational Standards and Testing. Ms. Taher holds an MPA from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy at the National University of Singapore (2018), an MA in International Finance and Policy from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs (2008) and a BA in International Relations from Kazakh State University (2002). Her professional interests include strategic planning and management, corporate governance and the development of innovative activities.
