Mr. Meirbek Mazhitov is Chairman of the Chamber of International Commerce of Kazakhstan, which supports local businesses to expand globally and helps to attract investment and funding to the country. In addition, he is Chairman of the Council of Heads of Chambers of Commerce of the CIS countries, as well as the Co-Chairman of the Russian-Kazakh Business Council. Previously, from 2013-15, Mr. Mazhitov was the Director of the Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Astana, where he was responsible for overall management and guiding policy and the development strategy. Prior to that, from 2006-13, he served as the Director General of the Association of Kazakhstan Entrepreneurs “KAZKA,” a non-profit organization supporting small- and medium-sized business development in Kazakhstan. He also has managerial experience in the tourism and commerce sectors. Mr. Mazhitov holds an MBA from KIMEP University in Almaty (2008) and a BA in English language from Kokshetau State University (1998).
