Mr. Saintulga Munkhgerel works on energy projects for Rio Tinto Group with experience in coal fired power plant developments in the Southgobi to supply the largest copper mine in the country. He previously worked as CEO of Khotgor Minerals LLC, a company developing one of the largest rare earth element deposits in Mongolia. Prior to joining Khotgor Minerals, Mr. Munkhgerel worked for Oyu Tolgoi on its copper-gold mine development project in Mongolia, where he was part of a team that negotiated power import from a Chinese SOE. Mr. Munkhgerel also hosts his own podcast “Cool Mongol,” in which he has conversations with inspirational Mongolians from different walks of life. He holds a BA in Economics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (2008).
