Mr. Nazir Sharifi is the Deputy Director for Strategic Development at Yakutsk Fuel and Energy Company. He also serves as the President of the UNESCO Federation Clubs in Tajikistan, is the Founder and Honorary Chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce in Tajikistan and is Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Eurasia Foundation of Central Asia. Previously he served as Head of the Strategic Business Unit at Skyland Petroleum Corporation and as President of Tethys Petroleum Tajikistan. From 1996 to 2007, Mr. Sharifi worked at the Tajik Foreign Service, including as the Deputy Chief of Mission in the U.S. He currently is pursuing an Executive MBA in Oil and Gas Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, UK. Mr. Sharifi holds an engineering degree from the Tajik Mining and Metallurgy Institute (2013); a degree from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia (1998); and a BA from the School of Tajik-Persian Literature and Journalism, Khujand State University, Tajikistan (1995)
