Dr. Murod Ismailov is an Adjunct Professor of Politics at the University of Tsukuba, Tokyo. In April 2017, New York-based Palgrave Macmillan published his book entitled, “Social Capital Construction and Governance in Central Asia,” which is co-authored with two prominent Japanese scholars. In 2016 he completed business training, and through participation in the Japan Market Expansion Completion he founded the business and technology accelerator TokyoLab with the ultimate goal of connecting start-up businesses and advanced science labs from the Asia-Pacific region with industries in Central Eurasia. Prior to moving to Japan, Dr. Ismailov spent 15 years in academia in Uzbekistan teaching and researching politics, security and social capital. He holds a PhD in Political Science from UWED (2010), an MS in Global Security from the Royal Military College of Science at the UK Defense Academy (2006), an MA in International Relations from the University of World Economy and Diplomacy (UWED) in Tashkent (2004) and a BA in History from Samarkand State University (2001).
