Hadeia Amiry

Afghanistan

Ms. Hadeia Amiry is a Special Adviser to the National Security Adviser to the President of Afghanistan. Prior to her current position, she served as the Deputy Director General of the Fifth Political Division at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan in charge of the Americas, Australia and New Zealand Bureau. Previously from 2013-16, Ms. Amiry worked at the Embassy of Afghanistan in Washington, D.C. as the Head of the Economic Department and then as a Senior Political Affairs Officer analyzing U.S. policy and relations with South and Central Asia. Since 2010 Ms. Amiry has been actively promoting women’s rights and awareness in Afghanistan. She is a 40 under 40 award winner. Ms. Amiry holds an MA in Global Security Studies from the School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University (2016), an MA in International Relations and Diplomacy from Fairleigh Dickinson University, New Jersey (2015), a BA in English Language and Literature from Kabul University (2011) and a BBA from Kardan University in Kabul (2010).
