Mr. Ahmad Zia Asey is the Director-General for Monitoring and Evaluation at the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Afghanistan. He also heads the Secretariat of the Strategic Leadership Board, the Ministry’s highest forum for discussion, implementation and follow-up of reform efforts. Prior, he worked as Senior Policy Adviser to the three previous Ministers of Interior. In that role, he had the responsibility of providing strategic advice and recommendations to the Minister on improving institutional development, donor coordination and the implementation of the Ministry’s reform priorities. Mr. Asey holds an MA in International Affairs with a specialization in International Economic Policy from the Paris School of International Affairs, Sciences Po (2013), a BA in Economics from University of Pune, India (2010), as well as a Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management from the Indian School of Business Management (2010) and an Advanced Post-Graduate Diploma in National Security and International Relations from Deccan Education Society in Pune (2010).
