Mr. Sovetbek Kachkynbaev is the Founder of eco-boutique hotel, “Matsunoki,” in Karakol city, Issyk Kul Lake region of Kyrgyzstan. The hotel opened in 2017 and is based on a minimalism concept. In “Matsunoki” Mr. Kachkybaev developed the best solid-waste management - almost to zero waste -among all hotels in Central Asia. He is also a guest lecturer on free market principles and tourism business at the Civic Enlightenment Academy in Kyrgyzstan. Prior to entering the hospitality business, from 2015-2016, Mr. Kachkynbaev worked as a sales manager at Nikkyo Cars (Japan), from 2010-2014 as an expert at the Tourism Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic and, from 2007-2009, as a head expert at the International Department of the State Agency for Tourism of the Kyrgyz Republic. Mr. Kachkynbaev holds an MA in Public Policy from Yokohama National University, Japan (2013) and a BA in World Economy from Bishkek Humanities University in the Kyrgyz Republic (2008).
