Mr. Barry Salaam is a Commissioner at Afghanistan’s Independent Joint Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee (MEC). Mr. Salaam is a well-known journalist, civil society activist and entrepreneur. He is the Founder of NAW Media, a production company which produces a wide variety of radio and TV programs, as well as the Founder of Channel 7 TV Network. Mr. Salaam is also the President of the Organization of Afghan Alumni. He is the founding member of Civil Society & Human Rights Network (CSHRN) of Afghanistan, which unites 120 member organizations. He also sits on the Board of Directors of Afghanistan Institute for Civil Society. Mr. Salaam is a frequent participant in international conferences promoting democracy, women’s rights, free media, development and security in Afghanistan. Mr. Salaam holds an MA in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University (2017) and a BA in Persian Literature from Kabul University (2008).
